Heartbreak - Tennessee Paint Rock Agate

This Tennessee Paint Rock agate gets it's name from the poor quality of agate you find at this site. It has beautiful color, but the problem is the many fractures you may find when you saw this Tennesee Paint Rock agate. The major reason for these fractures is that most of it found on the surface and all the heating/cooling over time has caused cracks. Some outstanding pieces were collected about 3 foot down above the current dig. That location is off limits at this time and the current dig site does not produce much. Recently some dozier action took place on the side of the mountain which produced a few nice agates. Many of us think more are in the area, but all private property and unable to get approval to collect. I will be adding more pictures over the next few months so check back. The picture is of one of the better agates.
